Music From The Gods

This song by Steve Harley And Cockney Rebel has always been one of my favourite song of all time.

Not because it’s a great song but because i used to hear it all the time as a small child in the late 70’s and early 80’s and this song more than any other, brings all those memories flooding back every time i hear it.

Great times and a GREAT song! This WILL be played at my funeral if i’ve got anything to do with it. πŸ™‚

These next 9 songs are just TRULY GREAT songs from some of my all time favourite bands and singers, that i guarantee will still be played 50 years from now.

This was the era when music was REAL music. Anyone around in the 60’s and 70’s who enjoyed music were blessed with the greatest 2 decades of songs throughout history, in my opinion.

Just like most women of today, they don’t make them like this anymore. πŸ™

Fantastic and timeless! Amazing!

I have to put this song by Gary Puckett from the late 60’s as my No 1 on this list.Β This song is just absolute genius song writing and music about an older man falling for a much younger girl.

If this song was released today it would NEVER see the light of day or be played on any mainstream music station.Β All of the nutcases would come out of the woodwork and want it banned. What a sad, miserable, homogenised world we now live in. Thank God this song was released long before the fruitcakes ruled the world.

I know times were tough in the 1960’s and 70’s but i would love to have been a teenager in the early 60’s and spent the best days of my life in those 2 decades. REAL WOMEN, REAL SPORT AND VERY REAL MUSIC! πŸ™‚

I could have picked any number of great songs from Simon and Garfunkel but i went for this one, The Boxer from the Bridge Over Troubled Water album.

I love it!

Paul Kelly – The Greatest Songwriter Alive Today (In My Opinion).

This Is The Original Promo Video From Almost 30 Years Ago Of Another One Of My All Time Favourite Songs.

Icehouse – Brilliant Australian Band Of The 80’s. This Song Is The True Australian Anthem!

I Saw This Band Live On My Birthday (Oct 9th 2011) In Queensland, Australia And Without Doubt Was One Of The Greatest Nights Of My Life! πŸ™‚
